Quiz Day!

Homework:
  • Extra Credit! Complete ALL the questions from HW48b (about the election) that require you to use mathematics.
    • Form A: complete at least problems 3, 4, & 6. For #3, consider how many people in Illinois make >$1,000,000 per year and what 3% would mean in decimals.
    • Due Tomorrow (Election Day!)
    • You must show all your work on loose-leaf (with MLA header) & box your answers for each problem.
    • Be prepared to explain your answers (in class) if you want credit.
    • Read the questions carefully! Do a mental GRASP to be sure you're answering the question (goal) that is being asked, and that your answer actually makes sense (paraphrase & check your work & your logic)... if you get that the millionaire tax would raise $11 a year, or that people in minimum wage make $41.25 a week, or that to not be in poverty would require an minimum wage of $460 an hour... you probably calculated something wrong!
  • Extra Credit Clarifications:
    • #2 should read "How much would the millionaire tax affect Governor Pat Quinn's challenger Bruce Rauner financially?"
    • #4 should read "one week (5 days of 8 hours, or 40 hours per week)"
